Club Fusion

fusion.jpgSince opening in September 1998, Fusion has established itself as one of the biggest club nights on a Saturday Night in Ireland. Based in the Waterloo Square area of Derry, the decks of Fusion have been graced by some of the biggest names in the world of Club Culture. Allister Whitehead, Phat Phil Cooper from Cream, Andy Nalin of Nalin and Kane (Beachball) and recently the internationally renowned Roger Sanchez have all played at Fusion.

Fusion is also the first club in the North West of Ireland to open until 4am, a true life saver for those who love to move. No more of that depressing feeling of despair as you step into the cold at 1.30am!

LOCATION

If travelling from outside of Derry Fusion is easy to find. Just get yourself to the City Centre and look for the Guildhall. Stand at the city side of the Guildhall and look towards the city walls and Fusion is a 2 minute walk to your right across Guildhall Square and then Waterloo Place.

Resident DJ Micky Roddy started Djing locally in Clubs in 1993. March '96 seen him join High On Life in Squires with Tall Paul, Robbie Nelson and Gleave Dobbin. Since then he has Djed with Tall Paul more times than he can remember, and Djed with top names like: Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules, Danny Rampling, Jeremy Heal, Scott Bond, Ferry Corsten, Anthony Pappa, Ian Ossia and Tony De Vit to name a few.

After Leaving Squires in the Summer of 98, he went on to become a resident for Spank in Warrenpoint, Drogehda, Dundalk and Dungannon, whilst also playing clubs in Belfast, Dublin and as far afield as Cork.

March 99 saw him take the reins in Frankie's before moving on to join the Glasgow based outfit Global Dance who were responsible for the much praised Love Machine events. He was also selected to play at the 1999 BBM Northern Ireland Dance Music Awards and to cap the year off played with the biggest line-up of top Irish Dj's in one club in Dungannon.

Now back in Derry honing his studio skills in the Nerve Centre, he has already secured a post with R.G.B records recording studio in Belfast, home to the infamous Agnelli & Nelson. In March 2000 Micky persuaded the High On Life Crew to return to the Vibe (Derry) on St Patrick's Eve with Tall Paul for a stormer of a night. Micky then stayed with Vibe until the 31st of October (Halloween), when he played his last set there with Gatecrasher's Scott Bond and Matt Hardwick.

May 2000 saw the highlight of Micky's career playing for Gatecrasher at Planet Love alongside DJ Taucher, Matt Hardwick, Tall Paul, Judge Jules, Scott Bond, and Agnelli & Nelson to name a few. The Gatecrasher Tent was a huge success, easily the busiest tent at the event. The Lush tent was also very successful featuring among others, John Digweed, Paul Van Dyk, Dave Seaman, Timo Mass & Col Hamilton.

Micky Also played at OZ Dungannons launch party in April with Judge Jules, and again with Judge Jules in June at his debut in Derry at Vibe.
